Program for Saturday May 13, 2006, 10am, EAA hanger, Riverview Airport.

The program this month will be presented by Chuck Helmholdt. He had the
experience of building his own 180HP, Superior XP360 engine. He will
tell the story and show photos of how he and his son went to Texas and
assembled the engine that will power his experimental aircraft. This
should be an interesting program, many people build their own airplane,
but how many build their own engine?


Notes from last month's meeting, April 8, 2006

Chapter 145 met in EAA hanger at Riverview airport. Hugh welcomed
everyone and there was nothing of interest from headquarters. Bill
Willard gave a financial report (Chuck was in Texas).

Dick stated that 14 people were signed up to go to The Weeks Hanger,
Oshkosh, on April 21-23.

Riverview Airport will sponsor an "aviation youth" open house on
Saturday June 3. Thanks to the 14 members who signed up to help out.

Program:  Mike Dubuis gave a detailed explanation on the steps he took to get started on his RV-9 project.  Mike gave us a chance to see the materials and the steps followed in getting his project under way.  He has finished the tail feathers and is currently working on the wings. Mike

Lowell, gave an interesting talk

about their A&P program and how it relates to the missionary field. He
also told several interesting stories of his field experiences in New
Guinea. Many thanks go to Duane for a most interesting program.

The progress in RV construction in the EAA hanger was "inspected" by all
members ...the consensus excellent workmanship!
