Program for the May 14 meeting: What does EXPERIMENTAL mean? Bill Willyard will give us an insight into the operation of an experimental airplane. His Kitfox will be used as a good example of what an experimental A/C takes to keep it in top flying condition. Take care and we will see you at 10am.
Notes from last month’s meeting, Saturday 4/9/05
Chapter 145 met at Riverview airport. Hugh held a business meeting at 9:45am. Items for the chapter meeting were discussed. The Chapter meeting started at 10:10am with 14 members and two guess.
Old business: A “buyer” for the GP-4 sent money, however he has to inspect the airframe materials before the chapter can keep it. Final arrangements were made for the annual trip to the Weeks Hanger in Oshkosh. The June 11 meeting will be at the KISD aviation program at the Ford AP, Todd Olsen will host it.
New business: Dick obtained a mailing list of EAA members within a 50-mile radius of GR. There were 755 names on the list. We are going to develop some type of flyer to send out to National EAA members inviting them to local chapter meetings. Congratulations to Gray for passing inspection on his RV-9.
Program: Mike Dubuis gave a detailed explanation on the steps he took to get started on his RV-9 project. Mike gave us a chance to see the materials and the steps followed in getting his project under way. He has finished the tail feathers and is currently working on the wings. Mike |
Program: Dr. Pat Rehfield, AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) gave great talk on what a doctor has to go through to become an AME, what the FAA is looking for in a medical exam, and where to get information about the criteria used. Dr. Rehfield not only explained things to us in language we could understand, but she also provided useful handouts. Thanks for a great program.
