NOTE THE DAY CHANGE FOR THE MEETING. Coffee and hangar flying at 9am (Officer’s meeting also) with the business meeting starting at 10am. This change in day/time was promoted by several members as a means of bringing in their A/C during daylight hours.

March Meeting Report Hugh was out of town so Dick met the group attending at the Gerald R. Ford Airport. There was an abbreviated business meeting due to the location. The presentation program, however, was quite extensive. - SECRETARY’S REPORT: We began March with a total of $5215.67 ($921.40 (checking), $4092.13 (saving) and $202.15 in cash.) Increases were due to $150.00 in dues collections and $135.00 in hangar donations. - OLD BUSINESS: 1. The Ford Tri-motor tour will still be in July (there will be no change to an earlier date). 2. The Young Eagles rally at Greenville will be on April 26th. This will be the first Young Eagles event of 2008 at the Greenville airport and will be held from 9am to 12 noon. Pilots & ground crews are welcome. Check with Dick Foster for details. 3. We are going to Weeks’ Hangar for the annual work crew on April 18-20. Anyone wishing to participate, who has not already notified Dick Foster, should do so immediately. We have been invited to dinner on Saturday evening. |
- NEW BUSINESS: NONE - FEATURED PRESENTATION: Tower Supervisor Steve Dooley presented an excellent PowerPoint presentation on the history of air traffic control, the training required and the operation of the tower. The group was then divided into two groups of 6 each and escorted to the tower and the radar room respectively. About an hour was spent in each area, with excellent instruction, discussion and questions on each of the areas. Many thanks to all of the tower and radar room personnel who made this trip one of the best in current memory.
