EAA Chapter 145 Meeting:  Friday

April 13 at 7:00pm

The April meeting will be at Riverview Airport

The program this month is titled:

“FAA=Friendly Aviation Advocates”.

Hugh Eisen will provide us with updated information / video from the Grand Rapids FAA office.  You will want to hear this information...it may help your flying more enjoyable (if that’s possible).

Dick Foster called last months meeting to order at 7:10; with 16 members present (Hugh was enjoying the sun in Florida).  The treasury report was not given as Bill and Chuck were unable to attend the meeting.  The Chapter treasurer duties will be look after by Dick until Chuck gets back from Texas.

The “Open House” at Riverview on June 2, 2007 was discussed.  Chapter 145 agreed to help by selling lunch, displaying aircraft and helping with Young Eagle flights.  Mike and Dick are meeting with Linda to workout the details.  Be sure to sign up to help at this fundraiser or if you have any ideas for activities.  We will be contacting people next month to help.

EAA 145 will be going to Oshkosh on April 20 to 22 for the annual weekend work party.  So far 10 people have signed up, for more information contact Dick Foster.

Hugh reported, from Florida, that he received preliminary information that the B-17, Aluminum Overcast, will come to Grand Rapids on August 2-6.  More information should be available at the April meeting.

Progress reports:  Len is making progress on his T-51 tail assembly.  Alex is working on the firewall finishing kit, with GR Tech instruments.  Also, one of the several RV-9s in the EAA hanger is sitting on its gear.  Keep up the good work guys!

Last months presentation by Gene Smith gave us his history of 36 years in the air traffic control business.  Gene had many interesting facts and stories to tell about the “other side” of flying.  Many thanks from EAA145 to Gene for a great talk!

Young Eagle News:  The summer Young Eagle schedule for EAA145/EAA221 has events scheduled in April, May, June and August.  Let me know if you want to get your “10 for 2007” flights in this year.
